Dean Coe-4-5Dean Coe is the author of children’s picture books featuring the adventures of Chesterton, a good natured ever curious weasel living on Cape Cod.  The collection includes: Chesterton Keeps His Town Jumping, Chesterton Saves the Whale, Chesterton’s Scary Breakfast, Chesterton’s Winter Rescue and Chesterton Saves The Bunnies.

Coe’s books have been illustrated by Robyn Whaples, Sandwich High School and Savahnna College of Art and Design graduate and currently a free-lance animator and motion design specialist in N.Y. and by Sasha Rudyakov, Sandwich High School and Northeastern University graduate and currently a software engineer in Cambridge, MA.

Coe’s early career was in camp administration with the YMCA and the former Boston Children’s Services Association. His primary career was as a principal in a multi-media production company and as principal and founder of Dean M. Coe Associates, an executive search firm established in 1984. Now retired, a grandfather of 4 and an avid kayaker, he provides historical and ecologcal narrative while leading kayak tours through the marsh of Sandwich, Cape Cod’s oldest town. His books introduce young readers to life on the marsh and woodlands of the Cape and New England.

Since moving to Cape Cod from Kansas in 1983 Dean has been an active member of the Cape Cod community serving as a Director of The Cape and Islands United Way, a trustee of The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, The Sandwich Public Library and The Community Bank. He was a founder of the Sandwich Chamber of commerce, The Sandwich Boardwalk Reconstruction Committee and The Sandwich Arts Alliance. He is currently a Director of The Thornton Burgess Society, Green Briar Nature Center and Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. Through relationships developed as an Airbnb host since 2012 he has traveled and kayaked internationally.

    Your name was given to me by a mutual connection, Ms. Kate Conway.
    I visited Cape Cod with my husband in May 2016 (and in May 2015 with a friend) and fell in love with the place. I met Kate and Kathryn at the Hyannis Harbour and started chatting with them. Kate mentioned she had a friend that rented a cottage right on the waters edge near Sandwich, and at a reasonable price as well. I was immediately interested. It took me almost two years to follow up but I thought I would touch base with you to see if I could obtain more details.
